Taco-Style Gyoza
Japanese-style pan-fried dumplings with a taco-inspired twist.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, shredded lively cabbage
- β1/2 cup, shredded mexican cheese blend
- β24-30 wrappers 1 package of round wonton wrappersusually found in the produce or international aisle
- β1 (6-pack) taco shells tacosor make your own taco 'shells' using crispy wonton wrappers
- β2 tbsp soy sauce
- β1 tsp sesame oil

Preheat a non-stick skillet or a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.

In a mixing bowl, combine cabbage, cheese, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place a small spoonful of the cabbage mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Dip your finger in a small amount of water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.

Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point. Press the edges together to seal the gyoza.

Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in the preheated pan and add the gyoza. Pan-fry until golden brown on the bottom, about 2-3 minutes.

Flip the gyoza over and add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has been absorbed and the gyoza is cooked through.

Serve the taco gyoza hot with your favorite toppings, such as sriracha or green onions.
