Egyptian Rice Pilaf
A flavorful and aromatic rice dish popular in Middle Eastern cuisine, made with toasted Egyptian rice and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Egyptian rice
- β1/2 cup lightly toasted pine nuts
- β2 teaspoons arabic spice blend
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 small onionfinely chopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the toasted pine nuts and cook for 1 minute.

Add the Egyptian rice and stir to combine with the onion mixture.

Add the arabic spice blend and stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
