Korean BBQ Beef Ssam
A twist on traditional Korean BBQ, served with a crispy bun and sweet ssam sauce. This recipe is perfect for a quick dinner or lunch.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef (sirloin or ribeye)thinly sliced
- β1/2 cup Ssam sauceavailable in most Asian grocery stores
- β4 Lightly toasted bunfor serving
- β1 Canadian wrapfor wrapping
- β1/2 cup Kimchispicy Korean fermented cabbage
- β1/4 cup Green onionsthinly sliced
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seedsfor garnish
- β2 tablespoons Soy saucefor marinade
- β1 tablespoon Brown sugarfor marinade
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon Gingergrated

In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Add the sliced beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.

Meanwhile, toast the buns by grilling them for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Assemble the ssam by placing a piece of beef onto each bun, followed by a spoonful of kimchi, a sprinkle of green onions, and a drizzle of ssam sauce.
