Kanom Buang (Thai Crêpes)
Kanom Buang is a traditional Thai crêpe dessert filled with a sweet coconut and bean paste. Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Ingredients
- ●1 1/2 cups Kanom buang dough (or substitute with plain flour)
- ●1/2 cup Coconut milk
- ●1/4 cup Bean paste
- ●1/4 cup Powdered sugar
- ●1/4 cup Vegetable oil
- ●1/4 cup Lightly sweetened coconut flakes
- ●1/4 cup Dehydrated coconut
- ●1 tablespoon Fish sauce (optional)

In a large mixing bowl, combine the kanom buang dough ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.

Heat a small non-stick pan over medium heat.

Pour a small amount of the batter into the pan and tilt to evenly coat the bottom.

Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges start to curl and the surface is dry.

Loosen the crêpe with a spatula and flip it over.

Cook for another minute until the other side is lightly browned.

Repeat with the remaining batter to make 8-10 crêpes.

To make the filling, combine the coconut milk, bean paste, and powdered sugar in a small bowl.

Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.

Add the vegetable oil, dehydrated coconut, and lightly sweetened coconut flakes to the filling mixture.

Stir well to combine.

To assemble the Kanom Buang, place a tablespoon of the filling mixture onto the center of a crêpe.

Fold the bottom half of the crêpe up over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up the crêpe to form a tight cylinder.
