Filipino-Style Braised Lamb Shanks
A hearty and flavorful Filipino-inspired dish featuring tender lamb shanks slow-cooked in a rich and savory sauce.

- β2 tbsp light soy sauce
- β1 tsp fish sauce
- β1 tsp black pepper
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 inches gingersliced
- β1 onionchopped
- β1 bunch bok choychopped
- β4 lumpia wrapper

Preheat the oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

Season the lamb shanks with salt and black pepper.

Heat the oil in an oven-safe Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the lamb shanks until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic, ginger, and onion to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, and 2 cups of water to the pot.

Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven. Braise the lamb shanks for 2 1/2 hours, or until tender.

About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the chopped bok choy and cook until wilted.

Serve the lamb shanks with the braising liquid spooned over the top.

To make lumpia, heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Wrap the lumpia wrapper around a filling of your choice (such as vegetables or meat). Fry until crispy and serve with the braised lamb shanks.
