French Onion Crumble Crusted Canadian Pork Chops
A flavorful dish featuring tender Canadian pork chops topped with a crumble crust and caramelized onions, served with a side of melted Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
Ingredients
- ●4 Canadian pork chops1.5 pounds total
- ●2 tbsp light brown sugar
- ●1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- ●1/2 cup, grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- ●1/4 cup, grated Reggiano cheese
- ●1 cup crumble
- ●4 tbsp unsalted butter
- ●1 large onionchopped
- ●3 cloves garlicminced
- ●to taste salt
- ●to taste black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper.

In a pan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and cook the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned.

Transfer the pork chops to a baking dish and set aside.

In the same pan, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and cook the chopped onion over medium-low heat for 10-12 minutes, or until caramelized.

Sprinkle the caramelized onions over the pork chops.

In a separate bowl, mix together the crumble, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and Reggiano cheese.

Evenly distribute the crumble mixture over the top of the pork chops.

Bake the pork chops in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Remove the pork chops from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
