Dongbei Pork Wonton Soup
A traditional Northeast Chinese soup made with wontons and pork, served in a rich broth.
Ingredients
- β1 pound porkground
- β20 pieces wonton wrappers
- β4 cups dongbei broth
- β2 tablespoons lean pork fat
- β2 tablespoons soy sauce
- β4 stalks scallions
- β2 inches ginger
- β3 cloves garlic

In a bowl, combine ground pork, soy sauce, scallions, ginger, and garlic. Mix well.

Lay a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper into a triangle and press the edges together to seal.

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.

In a large pot, heat the lean pork fat over medium heat. Add the wontons and cook until they float to the surface.

Add the dongbei broth to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Serve the wontons and broth hot, garnished with additional scallions if desired.

Cook the pork to an internal temperature of at least 160Β°F (71Β°C) to ensure food safety.
