Chicken Braise with Italian Flair
A classic Italian-inspired dish featuring tender chicken, kissed by the flavors of Venezuelan spices and slow-cooked in a rich braise.
Ingredients

- ●2 tbsp olive oil
- ●3 cloves garlic
- ●1 tsp italian seasoning
- ●1 tsp venezuelan spices
- ●1 can (28oz/794g) kissed tomatoes
- ●1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
- ●1 cup (240ml) red wine
- ●6 slices bacon
- ●1 bunch fresh parsley

1. Season the chicken breast with Italian seasoning, venezuelan spices, and salt.

2. In a large Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

3. Sear the chicken breast until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

4. Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.

5. Add the garlic to the pot and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

6. Add the kissed tomatoes, chicken broth, and red wine to the pot.

7. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

8. Return the chicken to the pot and transfer to the oven.

9. Braise the chicken in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 1 1/2 hours, or until tender.

10. While the chicken is braising, cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy.
