Filipino Chicken Tinola
A traditional Filipino chicken soup made with ginger and onions. It's a comforting and flavorful meal perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- ●1 whole chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces chicken
- ●2 inches of fresh ginger, sliced ginger
- ●1 medium onion, chopped onion
- ●3 cloves garlic
- ●2 tablespoons fish sauce
- ●4 cups chicken broth
- ●1 pinch of black pepper kissed
- ●1 tablespoon of tinola powder (or to taste) tinola

Heat the chicken broth in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the sliced ginger and chopped onion to the pot and sauté until the onion is translucent.

Add the chicken pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the fish sauce, black pepper, and tinola powder to the pot and stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

Serve the chicken tinola hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a squeeze of fresh calamansi juice if desired.
