Traditional Dongbei Dumplings with Almond Filling
A classic Chinese dish originating from the northeastern region of Dongbei, these dumplings are filled with a sweet and savory almond paste. Serve them steamed or pan-fried for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- β2 cups kissedground almonds
- β1 package dongbeiwonton wrappers
- β1/4 cup almondsliced almonds for garnish
- β2 tablespoons flourfor dusting
- β1 package dumplingsoptional

In a large mixing bowl, combine kissed and 1 tablespoon of water to form a dough. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.

Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small egg.

Roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.

Place a small spoonful of almond paste in the center of each dough circle.

Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the dough circle.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape, pressing the edges together to seal.

Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

To cook, steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or pan-fry with a small amount of oil until golden brown.
