Classic French Lentil Cassoulet
A hearty and flavorful French casserole made with lentils, juicy meat, and herbal spices.
Ingredients
- β1 cup French Green Lentilsrinse and drain well
- β4 Juicy Pork Sausagescasings removed
- β2 medium Caramelized Onionschopped
- β4 cups Herbal Brothlow-sodium
- β1 tsp Dried Thymecrushed
- βto taste Salt and Pepperfreshly ground

Preheat the oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

In a large Dutch oven, cook the sausages over medium heat, until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the sausages from the pot, and set aside. Add the chopped onions to the pot, and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are dark golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Add the lentils, broth, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then cover the pot, and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the lentils are tender, and the liquid has been absorbed.

Add the cooked sausages back to the pot, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until heated through.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs, if desired.
