Tunisian Lamb Tagine
A traditional French-inspired dish made with tender lamb and sweet spices, slow-cooked in a rich and aromatic tagine.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds lamb shouldercut into 2-inch pieces
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 teaspoons tunisian spice blend
- β2 large sweet potatoespeeled and chopped
- β1 cup chicken broth
- β2 tablespoons honey
- β2 tablespoons lemon juice
- β1/4 cup fresh parsleychopped (optional)
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in the bottom of a clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the lamb pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the tunisian spice blend, sweet potatoes, chicken broth, honey, and lemon juice to the tagine.

Stir to combine, then cover the tagine and transfer it to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2-3 hours, or until the lamb is tender and the sweet potatoes are cooked through.

Season the tagine with salt and pepper to taste.

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

Serve the tagine hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
