Italian Sweet Potato Gratin
A creamy sweet potato gratin with an Italian twist, perfect for a comforting side dish or main course.
Ingredients
- β2 large Sweet Potatoes
- β4 tablespoons Butter
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 cup, grated Grana Padano Cheese
- β1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- β1/4 cup, grated Parmesan Cheese
- β1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into 1/8-inch thick rounds.

In a large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

Add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

In a separate saucepan, combine the heavy cream and grated Grana Padano cheese.

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Add the cooked onion and garlic mixture to the cream sauce and stir to combine.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of sweet potato slices.

Pour some of the cream sauce over the sweet potatoes, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Repeat the layering process until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream sauce and cheese.

Dot the top of the gratin with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
