German Jamaican Potato Gratin
A unique twist on the classic German potato gratin, infused with the bold flavors of Jamaica.
Ingredients

- ●1/4 cup intensely dark chocolate chipsat least 70% cocoa
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor thickening
- ●2 tablespoons unsalted buttermelted
- ●1 cup grated cheddar cheesesharp
- ●1 medium oniondiced
- ●1/2 teaspoon garlic powderto taste
- ●1/4 teaspoon nutmegto taste
- ●1/2 teaspoon saltto taste

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a separate pan, sauté the diced onion until softened.

Add the grated cheddar cheese, flour, garlic powder, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.

In a separate saucepan, heat the coconut milk over medium heat.

Gradually add the chocolate chips, stirring constantly until melted.

Combine the cooked onion mixture and coconut milk mixture.

Layer the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.

Pour the onion-coconut mixture over the potatoes.

Top with additional grated cheese if desired.
