German Fromage Gratin
A creamy, German-inspired gratin made with a blend of cheeses and a rich, intensely flavored sauce.
Ingredients
- β250g fromageA blend of German cheeses
- β250ml blancWhite wine
- β1 gratinGerman gratin spice blend
- β50g butterUnsalted butter
- β50g flourAll-purpose flour
- β100ml waterFor the sauce
- β1 tsp saltTo taste
- β1 tsp black pepperTo taste

Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Slowly add the white wine, whisking continuously.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it thickens.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the grated cheese until melted and smooth.

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.

In a separate saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and stir in the German gratin spice blend.
