Mexican Scallop Gratin
A Mexican-inspired twist on the classic French scallop gratin. This dish features succulent scallops topped with a mixture of intensely flavorful spices, creamy cheese, and crunchy French breadcrumbs.
Ingredients

- β1/2 cup French breadcrushed
- β1/2 cup Mexican crema
- β1 cup Grated cheeseMonterey Jack or Cheddar
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Chili powder
- β1/2 tsp Paprika
- β1/2 tsp Salt
- β1/4 tsp Black pepper
- β1/4 tsp Intensely flavored chili flakes

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Rinse the scallops and pat them dry with paper towels.

Season the scallops with salt, black pepper, cumin, chili powder, and paprika.

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.

Add the scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.

Transfer the scallops to a baking dish.

In the same skillet, add the crushed French bread and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly toasted.

Sprinkle the toasted bread over the scallops.

Drizzle the Mexican crema over the bread.
