Irish Potato Gratin

- β1/2 cup Butterunsalted
- β1 cup Heavy creamwhole milk can be substituted
- β1 cup, shredded Granon cheeseIrish cheddar or similar can be used
- β1 tsp Saltto taste
- β1/2 tsp Black pepperto taste

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.

Slice potatoes thinly and layer in the baking dish.

In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and smooth the top.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
