New England Cod Chowder
A creamy and comforting fish chowder originating from the coast of New England.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Cod FilletsFresh or frozen
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 medium Potato
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- β1 cup Milk
- β1 cup, shredded Cheddar Cheese
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

1. Cut the cod into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.

2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pot over medium heat.

3. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.

4. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute.

5. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously.

6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened.

7. Add the cheddar cheese and stir until melted.

8. Add the cod to the pot and cook until cooked through.
