Saudi Arabian Chicken and Rice Bowl
A classic Saudi dish made with flavorful chicken, saffron-infused rice, and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastcut into 1-inch pieces
- β2 tablespoons aromatic spicesground cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cinnamon
- β1/2 teaspoon saffron threadssoaked in 2 tablespoons hot water
- β1 cup brown riceuncooked
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β2 cups chicken broth

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.

Add chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove chicken from saucepan and set aside.

Add onion and garlic to saucepan and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add aromatic spices, saffron, and chicken broth to saucepan and stir to combine.

Add rice to saucepan and stir to coat with spice mixture.

Bring saucepan to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
