Fermented Croatian Pastry Bites
Crispy, cheesy-free pastry bites filled with a tangy, fermented filling.
Ingredients
- β1 package Pastry dough (homemade or store-bought)
- β8 ounces Fermented vegan cheese alternative
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsley
- β2 cloves Minced garlic
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1 cup Baked corncanned or fresh, thawed
- β1/2 cup Indulgent chocolate chips (dairy-free)optional

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the pastry dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Cut out small squares of pastry dough, about 2 inches per side.

In a small bowl, mix together the fermented cheese alternative, parsley, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Place a small spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.

Fold the pastry squares in half to form triangles, pressing the edges together to seal.

Place the pastry bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

If using, sprinkle with indulgent chocolate chips and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes.
