Pastéis de Nata with Red Bean Filling
A traditional Portuguese dessert with a twist, featuring a red bean filling inside an indulgent pastry.
Ingredients
- ●250g PastryStore-bought or homemade pastry for the crust
- ●150g Red Bean PasteAvailable at most Asian markets or online
- ●100g Granulated SugarTo balance the savory flavor of the red bean paste
- ●1 EggFor egg wash to glaze the pastry
- ●10g Vegan ButterTo grease the pastry mold
- ●200ml Aerated Whipped CreamOptional topping for added indulgence

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Roll out the pastry to a thickness of 1/8 inch (3 mm).

Cut out circles of pastry using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of red bean paste in the center of each pastry circle.

Fold the pastry in half to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.

Use a fork to crimp the edges of the pastry.

Brush the tops of the pastries with egg wash for a golden glaze.

Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Dot the top of each pastry with a small amount of vegan butter.
