Smoky Stew with Tofu
A hearty and comforting stew made with smoky flavors and tender tofu, perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, sliced Smoked Hot Sausage
- β1 block, cut into cubes Tofu
- β1 large, chopped Onion
- β4 medium, peeled and chopped Carrots
- β2 large, peeled and chopped Potatoes
- β2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- β1 teaspoon Chinese Five-spice powder
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β4 cups Water

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add the tofu, tomato paste, and Chinese Five-spice powder to the pot. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the soy sauce, water, and browned sausage back to the pot.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

Season the stew with salt and pepper to taste.
