Japanese Date Cake
A traditional Japanese-style date cake made with heavy, honeyed, and egyptian ingredients, perfect for a sweet breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- β250g dates
- β120ml heavy cream
- β100g honey
- β10ml egyptian vanilla extract
- β200g cake flour
- β5g baking powder

Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

Grease a 20cm round cake pan and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dates, heavy cream, honey, and egyptian vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the cake flour and baking powder.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
