Smoky Gratin Canadian Gruyere Bites
A unique twist on traditional Japanese appetizers, combining smoky flavors with hearty, crispy elements.
Ingredients
- β1 cup gruyere cheese
- β6 slices canadian baconpreferably thick-cut
- β1 baguette hearty whole wheat breadcut into 1/2-inch cubes
- β1 tsp smoky paprika
- β1/2 cup gratin cheeseshredded
- β2 large eggs
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1/4 cup olive oil

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cut the Canadian bacon into 1-inch pieces and cook in a pan until crispy. Set aside.

Cube the bread and place half in a food processor. Pulse until coarse crumbs form.

In a large bowl, combine the grated Gruyere cheese, cooked Canadian bacon, bread crumbs, smoky paprika, eggs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Transfer the mixture to a greased mini muffin tin, pressing the mixture firmly into each cup.

Top each cup with the remaining bread crumbs and grated Gruyere cheese.

Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
