Greek Mozzarella Fritters
A Mediterranean-inspired twist on traditional fritters, featuring melted mozzarella cheese and a crispy exterior.
Ingredients
- β 1 cup all-purpose flourpreferable
- β 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- β 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- β 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- β 1/2 teaspoon salt
- β 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β 1 eggbeaten
- β 1 cup buttermilk
- β Vegetable oil for frying

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, mozzarella cheese, parsley, dill, salt, and pepper.

In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and buttermilk.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Do not overmix.

Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop the batter into balls.

Place the balls onto a plate or tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

When the oil is hot, add a few of the fritter balls to the skillet and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Repeat with the remaining fritter balls.
