Irish Chicken Pie
A hearty and comforting Irish-inspired chicken pie that's perfect for a cozy dinner. Made with tender chicken, flaky pastry, and a hint of Irish spices.

- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breastcut into 1-inch pieces
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor dusting
- β1/2 cup butterunsalted
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon allspiceground
- β1/2 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- β1 package pie crusthomemade or store-bought

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.

Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in flour, allspice, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken broth to skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Roll out pie crust to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Place in pie dish.

Fill pie crust with chicken mixture and spread evenly.

Roll out remaining pie crust to fit top of pie. Crimp edges to seal.

Cut a few slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.

Brush top crust with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is hot and bubbly.
