Croatian Pastry Pilaf
A hearty and flaky pastry filled with a delicious pilaf, perfect for a satisfying meal.

- β1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β2 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1 cup Rice
- β2 cups Vegetable Broth
- β2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- β1 teaspoon Dried HerbsMixed herbs

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the pastry dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Drizzle the vegetable oil over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Sprinkle the chopped onion and minced garlic over the dough.

In a separate bowl, mix the rice, vegetable broth, tomato paste, dried herbs, salt, and black pepper.

Spoon the pilaf mixture onto one half of the pastry dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Brush the edges of the pastry with a little water.

Fold the other half of the pastry dough over the pilaf, pressing the edges to seal.
