Pan-Seared Egyptian Lamb Koftas
A flavorful and aromatic dish inspired by Egyptian street food, featuring tender lamb koftas cooked to perfection in a skillet.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground Lamb80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium Onionfinely chopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Paprikasmoked
- β1 tsp Cuminground
- β1 tsp Corianderground
- β1 tsp Saltto taste
- β1/2 tsp Black Pepperto taste
- β2 tbsp Skim Milkfor moisture

Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat.

In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.

Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Using your hands, shape the lamb mixture into 8-10 koftas, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 3-4 inches long.

Place the koftas on a plate or tray, leaving a little space between each.

Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of oil to the preheated skillet.

Sear the koftas for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the koftas are cooked through.

Remove the skillet from the oven and let the koftas rest for 5 minutes before serving.
