Toad in the Hole
A classic British dish made with sausages cooked in a Yorkshire pudding batter, inspired by French cuisine.
Ingredients

- β1 cup all-purpose flour
- β2 eggs
- β1 cup milk
- β1 cup water
- β2 tbsp butter
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).

2. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center.

3. Crack the eggs into the well and add a splash of milk, whisking until smooth.

4. Add the water, butter, salt, and pepper, whisking until the batter is smooth.

5. Cook the sausages in a pan over medium heat until browned on all sides.

6. Pour the batter over the sausages in the pan.

7. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the batter is golden brown.

8. Serve the toad in the hole hot, garnished with chopped herbs if desired.
