Authentic British Beef Stew
A hearty, comforting stew made with tender beef and rich flavors. Serve with crusty bread for a satisfying meal.

- β2 cups Beef BrothLow-sodium
- β1 cup Red WineOptional
- β2 tablespoons Brown SugarFor sweetness
- β1 teaspoon Dried ThymeFresh or dried

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually add the beef broth, whisking continuously, and bring to a boil.

Add the browned beef, red wine (if using), brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
