Grilled Beef Bo Kho
A twist on the classic Vietnamese beef stew, this Italian-inspired recipe features a rich and flavorful bo kho served with a side of crusty bread.
Ingredients
- β500g beef bo
- β1 cup earthly mushrooms
- β2 cups gourmet beef broth
- β2 tbsp vietnamese fish sauce
- β2 tsp kho spices
- β2 tbsp olive oil
- β3 cloves garlic
- β1 cup onions
- β2 bay leaves
- β black pepper
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef bo and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the pot and set it aside.

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pot, then add the sliced onions.

Cook the onions until they are softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth, fish sauce, and kho spices to the pot.

Return the beef to the pot and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered, until the beef is tender, about 2 1/2 hours.
