Caramelized Pecan Wontons
A sweet and savory twist on traditional Chinese wontons, featuring caramelized pecans and gooey filling.
Ingredients
- β20-24 wrappers Wonton wrappers
- β1 cup Pecans
- β2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
- β2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- β1 cup Gooey filling (see notes)
- β1 egg Egg, beaten
- β1 tablespoon Water
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β2 tablespoons American all-purpose flour
- β1/4 cup Caramelized pecan sauce (see notes)

Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

On a clean surface, lay a wonton wrapper with one corner pointing towards you.

Place a small spoonful of gooey filling in the center of the wrapper.

Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg and fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal.

Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

When oil is hot, add a few wontons to the pan (do not overcrowd).

Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Drain on paper towels.

Serve with caramelized pecan sauce for dipping.
