Japanese-Style Pilaf Pastry Triangles
A fusion of Ukrainian and Japanese flavors, these flaky pastry triangles are filled with a savory pilaf mixture.
Ingredients
- β1 package (thawed) Golden Pastrystore-bought or homemade
- β1 cup (cooked) Ukrainian Pilafor Japanese-style pilaf with added Japanese seasonings
- β2 teaspoons Soy Sauceadjust to taste
- β1 teaspoon Rice Vinegaroptional
- β1/4 cup (chopped) Scallionsoptional
- β1/4 teaspoon Sesame Seedsoptional
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. Roll out the golden pastry to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm).

3. In a small bowl, mix together the Ukrainian pilaf, soy sauce, rice vinegar, scallions, sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper.

4. Place the pilaf mixture onto one half of the pastry, leaving a 1/2 inch (1 cm) border around the edges.

5. Brush the edges with a little water, then fold the other half of the pastry over the filling to form a triangle.

6. Press the edges to seal, then use a fork to crimp them.

7. Brush the tops of the triangles with a little water, then sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
