Glazed Tandoor Lentils
A flavorful and nutritious dish that combines the tender texture of lentils with the sweetness of a glaze, inspired by Ethiopian cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Red LentilsRinsed and drained
- β2 tsp Tandoor SpiceAvailable in most Indian grocery stores
- β2 inches GingerGrated
- β2 tbsp Glazed Soy SauceAvailable in most Asian grocery stores
- β1 tbsp HoneyOptional
- β1 tsp SaltTo taste
- β1/2 tsp Black PepperTo taste
- β2 cups WaterVegetable or chicken broth is also acceptable
- β2 tbsp Olive OilFor serving

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the grated ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Add the red lentils, tandoor spice, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.

While the lentils are cooking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the glazed soy sauce and honey.
