Sunday Braised Fish German Style
A hearty and comforting braised fish dish, infused with the rich flavors of German cuisine.
Ingredients
- β4 Fish Fillets (Cod or Halibut)preferably fresh
- β1 cup Sunday Saucesee below for recipe
- β1 large Gentle Onionschopped
- β1 tsp Curry Powdermild
- β1/2 tsp Jamaican Allspiceoptional
- β1 cup Braised Red Cabbageshredded
- β1/4 cup German Beeroptional

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the curry powder and allspice, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the Sunday sauce, beer (if using), and fish fillets.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Braise the fish for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.

Stir in the shredded red cabbage and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
