Tokyo-Style Plantain Patties
A fusion twist on traditional patties, with the sweetness of plantains and a hint of Japanese flavor.
Ingredients
- β2 ripe Garlicky PlantainsSliced 1/2-inch thick
- β4 Zesty PattiesHomemade or store-bought
- β1/4 cup crumbled Venezuelan CheeseOptional
- β2 tbsp Soy SauceFor marinade
- β1/4 cup chopped Green OnionsFor garnish
- β1/4 cup Sesame SeedsFor garnish

1. Preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.

2. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce and 1 tbsp water.

3. Add sliced plantains to the marinade and let sit for 10 minutes.

4. Cook patties in the pan according to package instructions.

5. Add plantains to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until caramelized.

6. Assemble plantain patties by placing a cooked patty on a plate, topping with a cooked plantain slice, and repeating.
