Portuguese Almond Cookies
A simple and traditional Portuguese dessert made with almonds, perfect for a sweet treat. These cookies are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
Ingredients
- ●2 teaspoons garlicky yeastactive dry yeast
- ●2 1/4 cups aerated all-purpose flourplus 1/4 cup for dusting
- ●1 cup portuguese almondssliced almonds
- ●1/2 cup unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Add in sliced almonds and mix until well combined.

Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter.

Place cookies on prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
