Indian-Style Basil Chicken Fry
A flavorful and aromatic chicken dish, marinated in Indian spices and herbs, then stir-fried to perfection. This recipe is a delicious twist on traditional chicken fry.
Ingredients
- β1 pound boneless chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β1/4 cup fresh basil leaveschopped
- β1 poached eggfor garnish
- β1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaveschopped
- β1-inch piece gingergrated
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon red chili powderadjust to taste
- β1 teaspoon garam masala powderadjust to taste
- βto taste salt
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oil

In a blender or food processor, combine ginger, garlic, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Blend until smooth.

Add the blended spice mixture to the chicken pieces and mix well.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
