Portuguese Cheese Tarts
A classic Portuguese dessert with a crispy flaky crust and a creamy cheese filling.
Ingredients
- β1 package Flaky Pastry DoughThawed according to package instructions
- β1 cup Portuguese Cheese CurdsSoftened to room temperature
- β1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- β1 large EggBeaten
- β1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the flaky pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place the dough circles into a muffin tin, pressing them into the corners.

In a bowl, mix together the cheese curds, granulated sugar, beaten egg, vanilla extract, and salt.

Spoon the cheese mixture into the dough-lined muffin tin.

Bake the tarts for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
