Jamaican Pears Gaelette
A unique dessert combining the sweetness of pears with the flavors of Jamaica, served as an Indian-inspired gaelette.
Ingredients
- ●2 large Pearsany variety, but firmer pears work best
- ●1 sheet Flaky Pastryhomemade or store-bought
- ●2 tsp Jamaican Spice Mixor a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice
- ●1 tbsp Honeyoptional
- ●1/4 cup Coconut Creamoptional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel, core, and slice the pears.

Roll out the flaky pastry to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Place the pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Arrange the sliced pears on one half of the pastry, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges.

Mix the Jamaican spice mix with a little honey (if using) and sprinkle over the pears.

Fold the other half of the pastry over the pears to form a triangle.

Brush the edges of the pastry with a little water and press to seal.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

Serve warm, topped with coconut cream (if desired).
