Italian Flaky Chicken Braise
A hearty and flavorful braise made with flaky chicken, passata sauce, and a hint of energizing spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 cup passata
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon dried oregano
- β1/2 teaspoon energizing spice blend
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

Sear the chicken thighs until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.

Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the passata sauce, energizing spice blend, and browned chicken back to the pot.
