Spicy Shakshuka Tacos
A twist on traditional Mexican tacos, featuring a spicy shakshuka filling, served in a crispy taco shell.
Ingredients
- β2 Fiery hot peppersJalapeΓ±os or similar
- β1 tsp Middle eastern spicesCumin, coriander, and paprika
- β4 Eastern eggsLarge eggs
- β1 tsp Fish free taco seasoningStore-bought or homemade
- β1/2 cup Shakshuka sauceHomemade or store-bought
- β8-10 Taco shellsCrunchy taco shells
- β1 cup Shredded cheeseMonterey jack or similar
- β1/4 cup Chopped cilantroFresh cilantro leaves
- β1/2 cup Sour creamOptional topping
- β1/2 cup SalsaOptional topping

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the diced hot peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.

Add the middle eastern spices and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Create 4 wells in the pepper mixture and crack an egg into each well.

Pour the shakshuka sauce over the eggs and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the eggs are set.

Warm the taco shells according to the package instructions.

Assemble the tacos by spooning the shakshuka mixture into the shells and topping with cheese, cilantro, and sour cream (if using).
