Fiesta Farfalle
A Mexican-inspired pasta dish with a festive twist. Chewy farfalle pasta is tossed with a tangy Brazilian-style sauce.
Ingredients
- β8 oz Farfalle pastaWhole wheat or gluten-free option available
- β1 cup Brazilian-style sauceSee instructions for homemade sauce recipe
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh cilantroOptional for garnish
- β1/4 tsp Red pepper flakesFor some heat
- β2 tbsp Lime juiceFreshly squeezed
- β2 tbsp Olive oilFor cooking pasta
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook farfalle pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add chopped red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute.

Stir in Brazilian-style sauce and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let sauce simmer while pasta cooks.

Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain farfalle.

Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and toss to combine.

If sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water.

Season with salt and lime juice to taste.
