Braised Algerian Lamb Tagine

- β2 tablespoons algerian tagine spice mix
- β1 pound lamb shoulderbone-in
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup chicken broth
- β2 tablespoons rum
- β2 tablespoons brown sugar
- β1/4 cup fermented preserved lemonchopped

Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the lamb and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the tagine spice mix, chicken broth, rum, and brown sugar.
