Argentinian Beef Empanadas
A classic Argentinian dish, these beef empanadas are filled with tender beef and spices. Serve as a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio works well
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β2 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1/2 cup Fermented ChorizoDiced
- β2 tbsp Worcestershire SauceOptional
- β1 EggBeaten for egg wash
- β2 cups All-purpose FlourFor empanada dough
- β1/4 cup WaterFor empanada dough

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the diced chorizo and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce (if using).

Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Use a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out circles of dough.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
