Egyptian Chicken Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with chicken, inspired by Egyptian spices and flavors.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β2 tsp exotic spicesa blend of Egyptian spices
- β1 tsp smoky paprikaoptional
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup egyptian stew mixavailable at most Middle Eastern markets
- β2 cups chicken brothlow sodium
- β1 cup wateroptional
Instructions

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the exotic spices, smoky paprika, and Egyptian stew mix to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken broth and water to the pot and bring to a boil.

Return the chicken to the pot and reduce the heat to low.

Simmer the stew for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Season the stew with salt and pepper to taste.
