Croatian Salmon Tagine
A fusion of Croatian and North African flavors, this salmon tagine is a dish that combines the freshness of salmon with the warmth of tagine spices.
Ingredients
- β4 x 6 oz Salmon filletsFresh, wild-caught salmon
- β2 tsp Croatian paprikaSmoked, sweet paprika
- β1 tsp Tagine spice blendA mix of cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and ginger
- β2 tbsp Exotic honeyA floral, fragrant honey
- β1/4 cup Crunchy chopped almondsToasted, for garnish
- β2 tbsp Croatian olive oilFor cooking and drizzling
- β4 Lemon wedgesFor serving

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the salmon fillets for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned.

Transfer the salmon to a plate and set aside.

Add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil to the pot.

Add the chopped almonds and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Add the Croatian paprika and tagine spice blend to the pot.

Cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the honey to the pot and stir to combine.

Return the salmon fillets to the pot and spoon some of the tagine sauce over the top.

Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and cook for 8-10 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through.
