Thai-Style Trout Tikka Masala
A flavorful and aromatic Indian-inspired dish with the freshness of Thai spices and the richness of trout.
Ingredients
- β4 fillets trout6 oz each
- β2 tsp prikThai red chili flakes
- β1 cup brinyyogurt, for marinating
- β1 tsp namfish sauce
- β1 tsp energizinggaram masala
- β2 tsp namcoriander powder
- β1 tsp energizingcumin powder
- β1/2 tsp priturmeric powder
- β1/2 tsp namcayenne pepper
- β1/2 cup brinywater

1. In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup of yogurt, 1 tsp of garam masala, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, and 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper. Mix well.

2. Add the trout fillets to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the trout from the marinade and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

4. In a large saucepan, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add 1 tsp of cumin seeds and 1 tsp of coriander seeds. Cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.

5. Add 2 cups of water, 1 cup of yogurt, 1 tsp of garam masala, 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper, and 1/2 tsp of salt. Whisk well.

6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

7. Add the cooked trout to the sauce and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
