Pirozhki
Classic Russian savory dumplings filled with meat and onions. Perfect as a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Dough
- β1 pound Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- β1 Eggbeaten
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.

In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion to the pan and cook until softened. Season with salt and black pepper.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture onto the center of each dough circle. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.

Fold the dough over the filling, forming a half-circle shape, and press the edges together to seal.

Place the pirozhki on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each dumpling.

Brush the tops of the pirozhki with the remaining egg and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
