Italian Bread Bowl with Sweet Korean Filling
A unique Italian-inspired dessert featuring a crispy bread bowl filled with a sweet Korean-inspired filling.
Ingredients
- β1 whole loaf Italian breadpreferably day-old bread
- β250g Dense sweet filling (Korean-style)see below for filling ingredients
- β2 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)optional, for some heat
- β100g Brown sugaradjust to taste
- β50g Crisp rice cerealfor garnish
- β10g Sesame seedsfor garnish
- β10g Melted butterfor brushing the bread

Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

Slice the Italian bread into a bowl shape, hollowing out the center to create a crust.

Brush the bread with melted butter.

Bake the bread in the oven for 10 minutes, or until crispy.

While the bread is baking, prepare the dense sweet filling (see below).

Once the bread is crispy, fill it with the Korean-style sweet filling.

Sprinkle the filling with Korean chili flakes (optional), brown sugar, crisp rice cereal, and sesame seeds.
